Founded in 1868, canard duchêne is one of champagne’s most distinctive houses – nestled in the montagne de reims and known for wines that blend skill in the winery with fruit purity and famed for pinot noir. Their brut rosé is a fine example, crafted from a high proportion of pinot noir and pinot meunier with just a touch of still red wine for colour. The result is a vibrant, elegant rosé champagne with wild strawberry, raspberry and citrus peel notes. There’s a soft mousse and a long, dry finish with a whisper of spice – making it as at home with food as it is as an apéritif. Serve with smoked salmon blinis, sushi or berry pavlova.
