Over and above its beauty teak – particularly the a grade varieties we sell – is blessed with an abundance of natural oils and a very dense grain which offers the timber natural protection against the elements all year round and reduces the likelihood of cracking or splitting occurring over time dramatically. This makes it perfectly suited for use outdoors … although, with exposure to the elements over time the natural ageing process will turn it a silver grey colour. For many people this simply adds further character to teak furniture but for those who prefer the look and feel of newer teak the ageing process can be removed either by using a mix of mild soapy water and elbow grease on a warm summer’s day or by taking advantage of our teak care products.
