Today award winning beronia is one of the best known names in spanish viticulture, but the brand has humble origins. It was founded as recently as 1973, by a group of friends who were simply on a mission to make great wine. While the flagship winery is set in the world famous rioja region, a second winery solely dedicated to white grape verdejo is based in the mineral rich do of rueda. Winemaker marian santasmaria ensures that the temperatures inside are kept cool and consistent, ideal for handling the expressive verdejo grapes. This bottling is made from a blend of two separate harvests to create a balance of fresh, citrusy notes as well as ripe exotic and stone fruit character. That diverse profile means it’s a perfect match for a range of different fish, light chicken and cheese dishes.
