Albariño is usually grown in coastal spanish regions, but this wine is from a little known area in rioja – valles de sadacia. You might think that the rioja region is too hot to nurture a grape that thrives by the sea, but valles de sadacia is famed for its dry white wines. And this is a stellar example. Expect apple, citrus and stone fruit flavours that’ll pair exceptionally well with seafood paella – or, as its label and name suggest, octopus.
