Bouzeron is a unique appellation in burgundy, notable for being the only village appellation in france dedicated to the aligoté grape. Covering just 60 hectares, it is also one of the smallest appellations in burgundy. Maison chanzy, the largest landowner in bouzeron with 14 hectares, stands out with its diverse production, offering seven different bouzeron wines.the winery was established in 1928 by joseph sordet, who initially focused on fruit tree pruning on limestone soil and also produced aligoté wine. This focus on aligoté has been a cornerstone of the winery’s identity. The estate now encompasses 66 hectares across nine villages, highlighting its significant presence in the region. This wine is made from a single vineyard, where vines average 35 years in age. After undergoing 18 months of oak barrel ageing, including 15% new oak, the wine has the potential to age well for seven to ten years.
