Set on some of the best soils in the chianti classico region – just a few kilometres from the village of panzano and overlooking a natural amphitheatre by the conca d’oro – tenuta casenuove produces world class sangiovese. The perfect blend of southwest vineyard exposure, deep stony soils, 400m of elevation and a talented winemaking team lets the region’s signature grape variety really sing. It doesn’t hurt either that tenuta casenuove really cares for the terroir – they’ve recently been certified organic. Expect fragrant notes of cherry, blackberry, spice and vanilla. Roasts, game and medium aged cheeses will all match brilliantly.
