The macallan have a reputation for the extraordinary. And it's mainly down to their expert use of oak casks. Each one is sourced, crafted and toasted under the eye of their master of wood at their speyside distillery. This 12 year old is made in two casks, one made from oloroso sherry seasoned american oak and one made from european oak. As a result, it has both the indulgent sweetness of the us and notes of rich fruits, sherry and wood spice from europe. Expect aromas of creamy butterscotch, candied orange and vanilla custard.
