How will i know when itaposs time to replace the tubes? In mid and late summer bees will lay eggs in the tubes and cap the end with a mix of materials like mud, wax or even grass. Over winter these eggs will develop and hatch around early spring as the weather begins to warm up. Monitor their activity, once you see the end of tubes have been disturbed your house is ready for refurb.
