Stephen daldry's evergreen coming of age drama stars jamie bell as an 11 year old miner's son with an unexpected love and talent for dance. Fleet footed debutant bell waltzed off with the bafta for best actor, though the movie wouldn't be the same without the superb supporting acts of teacher julie walters and dad gary lewis.     the special edition video also contains a 46 minute documentary about jamie bell called the billy elliot boy, made by the film's director stephen daldry.
