Considering his son to have reached an age where his sexual needs should be met, the father brings home christine, who soon threatens their insular world. Lanthimos’ film is a startlingly sharp piece of imaginative insanity, and the events instigated by the unhinged parents swing between the weirdly comical to the repulsive.
