Two widowed pensioners rekindling a childhood romance is the premise of this long running popular bbc comedy drama. The former childhood sweethearts, celia and alan,have reunited later in life and decided to get married – joining together their two, very different, families, including their middle aged daughters, caroline and gillian. This latest series opens with alan and celia are not seeing eye to eye seven years into their marriage, while tempers fray at caroline and gillian's joint birthday when celia can't hold her tongue.
