Starring brendan coyle, laurence kinlan, julia ford and rosemary henderson.   soft sand, blue sea trailer   thirteen year old david and ten year old danielle are residents of a childrens home. They are not orphans, but children of disinterested parents who have abandoned them, and are carrying the scars of being unloved and rejected. Soon after danielle arrives, a friendship develops between them. The home is run by sarah julia ford and gerry brendan coyle, but despite their best efforts, david and danielle find life in the home intolerable. After conflict and sudden tragedy, the pair attempt to escape the home, and run away in a daring adventure in search of a beach they dream of visiting. But will they be allowed their happy ending, or will disaster continue to follow the children wherever they run? Directed by bafta nominee pip broughton and written by bafta nominee stephen butchard. Produced by alan bleasdale, one of britain's most prolific screenwriters known for acclaimed screenplays such as gbh and boys from the blackstuff.
