The bbc's true crime drama stars french superstar tahar rahim as serial killer charles sobrhaj, alongside jenna coleman and billy howle. Tahar rahim stars as charles sobrhaj and jenna coleman as his girlfriend marie andrée leclerc. In the 1970s, the two carried out a killing spree on the hippie trail in southeast asia. They manipulated young travelers, by befriending, drugging, robbing, eventually killing and disposing of their bodies. Billy howle stars as herman knippenberg, a junior diplomat at the dutch embassy in bangkok who unwittingly walks into sobhraj’s intricate web of crime, and begins a quest to bring him to justice.     release date  22nd february 2021
